How to apply to study in New Zealand from Malaysia
Same logic as Australia, shorter path: match your Malaysian qualification to an NZQA course, get an offer, buy insurance, then lodge a student visa with Immigration New Zealand.
The sequence
- Profile and course shortlist against NZQA levels and your last Malaysian certificate.
- Application to the institute or university, including English evidence.
- Offer, acceptance, and proof of funds for tuition and living.
- Medical and travel insurance as required for the visa.
- Student visa lodgement with Immigration New Zealand, IAA-licensed advice where immigration assistance is given.
After SPM or a diploma
SPM leavers typically look at foundation or diploma pathways. Diploma and degree holders may enter bachelor or master’s programs directly where the mapping exists. We will not put you in a level that Immigration New Zealand will read as a downgrade without a reason.

Is the NZ process faster than Australia?+
Sometimes. It depends on the institution and the completeness of funds and GS-equivalent evidence. Faster is not the reason to choose a country.
