What subclass 500 is, and is not
Subclass 500 lets you stay in Australia as a full-time international student on a CRICOS course. It is not a work visa, not a partner visa, and not a shortcut to PR. Work rights during study are limited. The visa is granted against a specific CoE; changing course later can have conditions.
- You must hold a Confirmation of Enrolment before lodgement.
- You must meet Genuine Student (GS) requirements, why this course, why Australia, why now, and what you will do after.
- You must show funds at the level Home Affairs expects, plus OSHC for the visa period.
- English, health and character requirements apply as assessed for your file.
